My MS10 OS can read this CD/DVD drive. However, when reading some CDs (not all CDs), this unit rumbles like a freight train. I have no idea why. Also, the cable is so short that it dangles while working on my vertical hard drive (which didn't come with the CD/DVD drive, which is why I bought it). I'll keep my fingers crossed for durability. While this drive isn't expensive, I want it to last 2+ years.

This is a great product. It is small and easy to take with you anywhere. I particularly like that the power cable is integrated and can be stowed away at the bottom of the device when not in use. You don't have to worry about the right power cord to make it work. The device is ready for operation. Just connect it to your computer and it will be recognized as an external hard drive.

The biggest problem is that it can't write to recordable DVD media. The drive doesn't even recognize blank media. I've tried DVD+R, DVD-R and DVD+RW. It will be burned to CD. There are many other drives that burn both CDs and DVDs for the same price, so why bother? It also vibrates heavily and makes a very loud noise when reading discs. I'm a teacher and the school system switched to a Chromebook this year and I had some old programs I wanted to download and if I was using the internet I would have to pay again. So I was looking for an inexpensive external drive to run programs, listen to music and even watch DVDs on my Chromebook and it's perfect, it's very easy to use. Open-Box connects to your ESB port and everything works. It runs on laptop battery so only 1 cable and so far so good.

Just yesterday I got this product to convert all my old physical DVDs to digital and I put in my first film, it recognized it for about a second and now it doesn't work . DVDs are unreadable and my computer no longer recognizes the drive. I changed ports, disconnected and reconnected. Rested my computer, changed hard drives. etc. I'm giving this back for something that doesn't stop working once I start using it! Don't waste your time or money on it!
