This is the third alligator cutter I've bought (love them so much!). The other two were made of plastic and due to heavy use, the plastic bases have cracked. So I opted for the stainless steel version. It's excellent and comes with three cleavers (finely chopped, 1/4" dice and about 1/2" chopper). Unlike similar shredders, the cleaning grid actually works and pulls all the bits out of the base for easy cleaning. This chopper cuts radishes and carrots easily!. always diced 1/4 inch onion cuts perfectly. Other vegetables like red and green peppers are also good. that's a big plus. It's nice not to scatter store-bought vegetables all over the counter. If you chop a lot of onions yourself, I would recommend this chopper. small quantity and grinding precision required.
