I had a West Bend pitcher for many years and liked it. It hasn't worn out, I've moved it and made it smaller, and it was a little worn out from long use, so I let it go. My daughter bought me a new "traditional" slow cooker and everything was fine, but I missed my West Bend. When she started taking the traditional one, I said I would leave it and look for another. I knew I was going back to West Bend! I love the updated version, but I'm missing the glass dome lid that doubles as a serving platter. The old one came with no plastic sleeve or carrying case, so a good compromise. I never used a frying pan in the old version, not sure what I'll be using in the new one, but it's an option, and options are always good. One note for improvement, I know!, is the temperature control. It has warm, low, medium, high, skillet. When it's plugged in, it's on! It would be nice to have a real OFF button. Also, most recipes say 4 to 6 hours or 8 hours so you don't really know what is low, medium or high. The Teflon non-stick coating inside is really great, it cleans up quickly and is a good size. fits in your dishwasher and still fits with other items. I'm glad West Bend still makes multicookers/slow cookers but hopefully this one will last as long as I need it!
