Quality issues with pressure cookers

What happened to the West Bend QC Multicooker? We replaced the original after 10 years because we were concerned about cooking on the teflon base that we had scratched over the years. Although care is taken not to use metal utensils, after another 10 years it is time to replace them again. After using the new one for the first time, we noticed when cleaning it that the underside was already scratched and discolored. We used a wooden spoon to make the soup so we sent it back and got a…

Poor quality container

We have had a Westbend multi cooker with pot for many years and love it. Eventually, after many years, the non-stick coating started to wear off and we had to replace the pan. Unfortunately, Westbend discontinued this model, so we chose it as the next best thing. Well, we were wrong. The pot is thin and doesn't have insulated handles to grab the pot. To make matters worse, the non-stick coating showed a scratch after the second use and after the third it looked worse than the old one we…

Disappointing replacement

I bought this to replace an old 30 year old mustard paint that has served us well but was not stylish enough for public use. had to stick with the old reliable one. The new model has already been used three times: the lid had to be force closed, but moisture still got in, leading to unreliable results (and a spoiled meal); the non-stick coating is no better than the 30-year-old coating on the previous model; the lack of real handles [which I knew from the product description though] is more…

Multi Cooker West Bend Rocks!

I had a West Bend pitcher for many years and liked it. It hasn't worn out, I've moved it and made it smaller, and it was a little worn out from long use, so I let it go. My daughter bought me a new "traditional" slow cooker and everything was fine, but I missed my West Bend. When she started taking the traditional one, I said I would leave it and look for another. I knew I was going back to West Bend! I love the updated version, but I'm missing the glass dome lid that doubles as a serving…

Not a 'real' slow cooker but its worth in itself

I've wandered around those kitchen shops where you drool over everything and can't afford anything. And I had a craving for one of their high-end branded multi-cookers that easily move from stovetop to oven and fridge (for a few hundred dollars). And that made me wonder if there's a cheaper way to get the benefit (if not printing) of these things. Enter West Bend's Versatile Slow Cooker. base to prevent sticking), you can do whatever you want with it, including placing it on the included burner
