UPDATE:The rubber housing of the flashlight protruded further back than it was supposed to, out of the package. After pushing it a bit to bring the magnet closer to the surface, it sticks well to the car, even at a 90 degree angle.Updated rating from 3 to 5 stars.The flashlight is powerful enough for what it's supposed to be; it's lightweight, handy and feels good in the hand.The magnet, however, is not nearly powerful enough.With the added weight of the three (!) needed AAA batteries, it just can't hold its own weight when attached to any surface that is at an angle. So, you can't really attach it above the wheel well, for example, if you need to change a tire.This was tested on a Mazda 2, 2008, if that makes any difference.
