I got tired of keeping my hound on a leash that she would randomly pull me so hard it would hurt my arm, so I made the switch to this and I am so happy I did. She still needs constant direction and training, and for the most part walks are pretty calm, but every once in a while if she darts away to try and catch a squirrel, my body weight is such that she doesn't go very far and I am able to control her better. I would not recommend this sort of leash for something with a large dog with no training who doesn't stay next to you well, but for us it works. I only wish it was one piece versus two because it's a real pain to get on and off. Most running belts are just one piece, but this one is not. But otherwise, it's great.
