I'm new to the fish hobby so I'll update if anything changes. Of all the products available, I like the K1 fluidized bed best. It has the largest surface area to retain beneficial bacteria; It features a pre-filter sponge that can be easily removed for cleaning. I'm curious how much water runs from the tank through the device per hour. The plastic bottle I used as a homemade version seemed better until I realized the poor quality plastic would harm my fish. This is the best option for safe filtering and more attractive.
