They fit my needs exactly. Of the two boards I received, one already had "Blink" loaded. It also has a very tight fitting USB Type B connector. I suspect this could be a buyer return. It works, the price is low, no damage and no foul. As for the asterisk in the title, the listing clearly states that it uses a CH340 USB to serial converter. I knew what to expect from illegal clones. I knew what to expect, so buyers didn't feel bad when I had to jump through hoops to get them to work on my Linux system. In particular, I needed to add support for CH341 (including CH340) to the kernel. I'm using my own kernel, so I had to enable ch341 and recompile the kernel. For most people, you probably just need to download the precompiled module available from your distribution's repository. "sudo modprobe ch341" might be all you need to proceed. If that doesn't work, you may need to install the kernel sources and compile them yourself. You have been warned LOLOLOL :-)
