Review on πŸ›₯️ Moeller Marine Reed Switch Fuel Sending Unit: Complete with Gasket and Screws - Advanced Electrical Solution by Paul Mac

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A quality part made largely of stainless steel. The electrical cables are well sealed on top of the unit. Ease of installation.

Used to replace the fuel tank sender assembly with a long wire arm with a small float that stops reading the fuel level once it falls below halfway. It's much easier to install and place right in my aquarium. I just measured the depth of the tank and ordered a block an inch shorter. This transmitter block is made from high quality stainless steel and should last a while. It comes with two sets of 6 screws, one of which fits directly into the screw holes in the tank. It also comes with a rubber gasket. I just smeared it with some lube before installing it to keep the rubber from drying out too quickly. This works a bit differently than my last transmitter, where the needle slowly rose from zero to the gas level in the tank. . This causes the gas gauge needle to go all the way to the end, then it stays there for a while until it levels off at the actual level of your gas. It's okay if you know you'll have to wait until you get the right reading after turning the key. The shipyard charged $350 to replace this fuel gauge. By ordering it from Revain and doing the repair myself (a good tutorial video is available on YouTube!), I saved hundreds of dollars. If you're a little handy with a screwdriver and know how to make 12V electrical connections, you can easily do it yourself! Just be careful not to drop any parts into the tank and keep an open flame nearby while doing so (my tank was still half full when I made this repair).
