Review on Enhanced Renogy Solar Panel Tilt Mount Brackets with Foldable Legs, Ideal for Off-Grid Systems on Flat Surfaces by Clay Ijaz

Be careful when installing on the roof of a van

For vans. If you can keep them flipped all the time, then this review doesn't apply to you. I've been on the roof for the past few days installing sloping panels and on my next install they won't be there. What I didn't factor in was the space you need to put your hand between the panels and in some cramped spots where 3 panels would fit, two really went. Also, I doubt many people use pre-made tilt mounts without modifications. My roof, which I thought was flat, was slightly arched. So when the included mount didn't fit snugly, it was like putting a ruler on a basketball. This forced me to trim the mounts, which also meant purchasing additional hardware. There are 6 panels so I had to cut 24 aluminum brackets to get 48 pieces to mount on the roof. Also, despite Renogy's instructions, the brackets are not long enough to mount the solar panel in "portrait" mode, only in "landscape" mode. "Once I finally put them on, I wouldn't be surprised if it took an hour or two to flip them on. For tilting there are six points on each panel to remove the wing nuts and add two slats and I have six panels.
