Review on Torin T42002A Big Red Steel Jack Stands: Double Locking, 2 Ton Capacity, Red - 1 Pair by David Encarnacion

One of the struts broke when I was under the car. Not sure if the weight went off balance or what, I just worked normally. As always, I checked the balance, got the job done on a level, stable surface, jacked it up evenly, and distributed the weight properly. Before starting work I did a thorough shaking test, everything was fine. During work I had a terrible feeling, I got out from under the car to understand why and how I did it, it collapsed. He fell on a spare tire I had put under him and I had to stop the car from rolling over me. When I pulled out, the arm was cut off the brake rotor and guard, and the lower ball joint caught, which the tire didn't. Always install a backup in case the jack fails. Is always. Came with was stained for other reviewers, and the actual arm of the stand wasn't making proper contact with the stand. Others have mismatched welds to the point of missing welds. But when I needed coasters it was very difficult to find them in stock near me so I settled on these. When they arrived I checked them, everything looked fine. It still failed. I will be replacing the 2 sets I have with another brand. Anyway, I didn't like those legs, I'd rather have welded on flat legs than hollow corners. Good luck and take care.
