This mat is exactly as described in the well-written and thorough ebay product description (except for the fold ripple issue described below.)It is a very attractive mat with a non-slip rubberized backing. I ordered it to use in my kitchen on a linoleum floor, and it definitely does not slip. It also does not slip on carpet (although it might shift a little over time with heavy traffic.)The "rubber flock” material on the top is very soft on bare feet (almost velvet-like). (SEE CLOSE-UP PHOTO)It is relatively thin ("low profile”), but it feels substantial, weighing 2 pounds and 7.4 ounces.The only problem (as noted by other reviewers) is that it is shipped folded in a soft mailing bag for compact mailing. It was folded once down the long middle and then three more times from the ends. This resulted in noticeable fold ripples that did not flatten completely when laid on the floor (SEE FIRST PHOTO). I understand the reason to try to make the mailing container as small as possible to reduce shipping costs, but in this case it would have been better if it had been rolled when shipping.Since the description says it is machine washable, I washed it in cool water in my top-loading washer, using the "bulky items” setting, to see if that would flatten it out. I washed it with some other items to try to even the load. It washed fine and did not cause an uneven load. After drying it on low heat, I laid it on the floor again. The ripples were reduced a little by washing/drying, but were still quite noticeable, and the mat would not lay perfectly flat, as shown in the product description (SEE SECOND PHOTO). This might not bother some people, but I am just enough of a perfectionist to be bothered by it - especially since it could have been prevented with a different shipping method. This is primarily a visual defect, but it does slightly affect the non-slip function directly below the ripples. I can only assume the ripples are permanent. Since this issue was not solved by washing/drying, I deducted stars from my rating. Otherwise, I would have given the mat a 5-star rating.The conclusion is that this is a very soft mat to walk on and is very non-slip on bare floors. It is well made and attractive. The apparently permanent fold ripples from the shipping method detract from its appearance, and is the primary reason for reducing my star rating.
