I am very disappointed. I keep my room at a very low temperature compared to the ideal temperature for a hamster so I bought this to put under my hamster tank to keep it warm. Since it's a dial, there's no way of knowing how hot you've set it. At its lowest it stays at around 68.7 F (I have a temp gauge in the tank and across from the heat mat) but if I change it to go even the smallest amount higher it jumps to 117.5 F. I almost did melted my plastic table. This is very disappointing because I can't use it without a controller and even then it's uneconomical to use. I might as well use the new degree pad instead of the dial. Super disappointed.
