Knife doesn't stay sharp

I bought this knife based on reviews as I had to work on three deer over the weekend. I liked the handle, flexibility and weight of the knife. However, I was very disappointed with the knife as it could not stay sharp for long. I even bought a Mercer grinder, but after a while it did little to restore sharpness. I ended up having to pull my whetstone out to get a satisfyingly sharp edge. I confess I checked the knife when I was skinning a deer. I assumed the "boning" knife was the right tool, but this one didn't cut it (no pun intended). Unfortunately, Revain won't let me return it. Maybe I can use it to cut cakes, tarts, butter or something. However, I will no longer use it as a boning knife.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Something different
