Let's start with what you need to know. The "glue" on the bottom isn't actually glue. It shouldn't be sticky. This is for slip protection. And as far as that goes, it works great, you can put it on almost any surface and it won't move. If it really was like advertised glue I would give it 5 stars. Still, I'm giving it 4 stars because I still feel like it does what it's supposed to do. Provide a non-slip surface. If you want this to be a permanent installation I recommend attaching it with screws or permanent glue. One thing should be noted. If you want to use permanent glue, be sure to remove the existing layer on the bottom. Comes off pretty easily. I took my time slowly scraping everything off, but sandpaper would probably be quicker and it's a bit rough on the underside, allowing your new glue to grab. For my personal use, I just wanted to find something like a diamond coated rubber mat to use on my motorcycle lift's foot pedals. I removed the existing "glue" and superglued it, then cut off the excess. So far I'm very happy with it.
