First bulb fitted early January 2020, now towards the end of February and the first one hasn't stopped working. I run them 10 hours a day about 4 inches from Turtle Rock. So something is probably splashing off the filter and creating a waterfall. The only thing I did was avoid touching it with my fingers during installation and used a paper towel instead. When it comes to heating, 25 watts is enough for my setup. Sometimes the turtles relax a bit away from the beam so sometimes it can get too hot. A heat lamp like this is said to improve the turtles' health and responsiveness and it helped a bit, but I've seen mines in the mid 80's being very happy when the water was warm. So don't forget a kettle for your turtles. Update May 21, 2020 The first lamp is still bright and hot. To be honest I don't know how this one of January will last up to 10 hours a day. I can't say the others in the pack will last until I get a chance to replace the first one.
