In my opinion this is the best option for converting a road or MTB to single speed with vertical dropouts. Includes shims or hub shell kit, but far outperforms spring loaded pulley and cage units. During installation, it is important to eliminate as much slack in the chain as possible to ensure reliable and functional chain tension and chain line accuracy. When properly installed, the polypropylene hub provides near-silent operation and encloses the single-speed sprocket almost as completely as a standard track/fixed hub configuration. This means instant engagement and no chain slippage. If there's a downside, the cog has to be taken off the spit for a wheel change or flat repair, but maybe that adds a minute to the process. I highly recommend.
