Review on Bamboo Wood Knife Block ๐Ÿ”ช Storage Holder - Mantello XL Universal Organizer by Jessie Vrbensky

Old blocks are not safe - buy a new one!

I like everything about this knife block which I bought to replace an almost identical but much older one. I've owned the previous block long enough that the knife and scissor blades were no longer fully embedded in the bristles. Instead, they stuck out past the tips of the bristles, as if something hard was preventing them from fully penetrating. Over time, the blades protruded further and further until finally only the tips of the blades were caught between the bristles. Since I saw this every day, I didn't notice and didn't think that someone could get hurt trying to grab a knife that's basically open. My theory (which may be wrong) is that over time sharp blades cut off tiny bits of the circumference of the bristles, leaving them irregular and not round and not allowing the blades to go all the way in. : If your current knife block doesn't slide the blades as easily as if they were dipped in melted butter, you need a new block before someone gets hurt. This appliance has made my kitchen and family safer.
