Good value for money! good for knife block and storage

I had another similar knife block but made by a different company. I liked the design, but the plastic strips it was filled with were packed too tightly and the bamboo box eventually broke apart from the constant pressure from the extra knives. I reluctantly ordered it and was pleasantly surprised that it was loosely packed. It fits all of my knives and slides in and out easily. I am very happy with it.

  • Brilliantly made

Very disappointing, good for kitchen and dining room

I've been using a different version of this knife block for about 20 years. The versatile Mantello XL Bamboo Wooden Knife Storage Organizer is disappointing. Apparently, Mantello figured he could make a much cheaper version with fewer plastic rods and still call it a knife holder. It will hold plenty of knives, but the lack of handles means some or all could sink to the bottom of the holder. If the short knife is missing, it's in there somewhere. Go fishing. Instead of leaving my good knives…

Inefficient storage solution. Returned

I had a knife block in this style many years ago and loved it. I bought this one and immediately noticed what black chopsticks "not dense" are. With my old block there was some resistance when you inserted the knife which held it securely. Of course, in this case, all my knives succumb to gravity and end up bunched at the bottom of the block. It looks good, the materials seem to be of decent quality, but the way it's designed just doesn't do the job. I think if you had a lot of knives it might…

I'm glad I didn't write a review when I first got it.

I'm glad I didn't write a review when I first received this B/C, at first glance it seemed too 'loose' to me. Some of my lighter/smaller knives are starting to get past the flexible handles, but after getting used to the idea I really prefer them. I have another knife block of the same type in my second house but the rods fit together much tighter but in the end this holder is actually TOO tight. I like the flexibility of not having to put certain knives in certain places. I just bought this…

Too tight to hold my knives and I can't get the insert out to fix it

I bought this knife block in July 2019 and the plastic bars were a bit tight to fit my chef's knife, santoku and Serrated to fit bread knives. I should have returned it but decided to give it more time. It only got worse over time. Currently, I can't sink my knives more than 3 inches without using the wrong force, and now they stick out of the block enough that I find it dangerous. I am convinced that some rods have broken in the middle and are causing clogs. I've read that others have been…

  • This is amazing

  • Vulgarity

Perfect for an unpaired knife set!

Very handy that you don't have to worry about slots and space when you have a knife set without a knife holder. If you only have 1 or 2 knives it might not have much room, but it does a great job once you start putting them in there. I have 1 cleaver, 1 cleaver, 1 paring knife, 4 stake knives, 1 carving knife, 1 carving fork. With some room to walk. It's great you don't have to worry about the width of your knives or what else you want to put in it, it's sooooo versatile and the great thing is…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Not the best

Old blocks are not safe - buy a new one!

I like everything about this knife block which I bought to replace an almost identical but much older one. I've owned the previous block long enough that the knife and scissor blades were no longer fully embedded in the bristles. Instead, they stuck out past the tips of the bristles, as if something hard was preventing them from fully penetrating. Over time, the blades protruded further and further until finally only the tips of the blades were caught between the bristles. Since I saw this…

Smaller than expected

Before ordering this product I compared several similar products, especially in terms of size. I have found that this knife has the same internal dimensions as my current broken knife block of the same style. It's not like this. Please note that the internal size of the main body of this block is approximately 3.5 inches square. The bottom section, which only supports shorter knives, is the same width at about 1.5 inches. Knives that fit comfortably in my previous 4.5" square block barely fit…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • thin
