Review on Walker 21471 Muffler by Russ Mashlan

Purchased locally due to lack of time. This is hard work. Thick tube walls and heavy in hand. The local exhaust dealer nodded his approval. I think Walker is the industry standard that most guys are really comfortable with. I went straight pipe and enjoyed the sounds of an old 7.3 PowerStroke with Stage 2 injectors and an upgraded turbo (lots of hiss and howl). The sound was like a big dump truck. While it was fun and enjoyed by my inner child (more amazing than a couple of Janet and Becky in convertibles or Todds and Chad on bikes), it pretty quickly got too noisy for long commutes and tire commutes. Anticipating a long journey, I needed a quick fix. The local seller had one in stock, everything else was in 2-3 days, the decision was easy. I'm honestly very happy with the results. Not much has changed in the sound. This reduced the volume by 50% and smoothed out harsher sounds. It doesn't feel like a Flowmaster underwater or anything, but the volume is below where it should be and the sound quality has improved.
