Brilliant idea. For many years it bothered me that I couldn't lock the tailgate. Although I was able to lock the lid, it wasn't secure. Then I started looking for secondary locks/latches/buttons and found this. Installation is a bit tricky as everything fits together perfectly and as it turns out you really need to follow the instructions and set it up correctly, which isn't hard at all but you know some people like to just go ahead. So the first time I forgot a part that ended up crooked and should be oriented correctly. So I went back, looked at the instructions, found the part (which I had thrown away), removed it and made a second attempt, following the diagrams exactly. The second installation took about 5 minutes. The first was probably 25 and wrong!
