without skill or care. Steel is nothing special, ordinary mild steel, wood is soft and light. The handle is NOT painted or shellac coated which would be fine as I prefer a boiled linseed oil treatment unless otherwise noted. The wood is thin and rough, far from symmetrical, and a few rivets stick out proudly and cling to things. Grips rely less on fit and rivets and more on glue. The metal was poorly forged and not fully melted in places, then quickly ground to the desired shape, leaving a heat discoloration. The tips are sharp and the edges are curved, most of them not straight. I bought this particular product at a lower price from the Garret Wade online shop and was hoping in vain (despite identical pictures and descriptions) for a better quality. "Vintage replicas" or a suitable project. Any self-respecting student would be ashamed to admit that he made them. These are appalling attempts to trick you from your money with the ruse of false nostalgia, and bear only a passing resemblance to antique instruments. If you want vintage replicas, it's best to make your own using quality materials. They aren't even a good price for what you get. The ONLY good thing about them is that you can shamelessly abuse them like the garbage they are and the only thing you will regret is how much you spent on them.
