Built some counters for a retail store. Used cedar and oak plywood. HD and Lowes were birch plywood which is what I wanted. I needed an edge to cover the cut edges of the plywood. You just put it in and hold the iron for about ten seconds. If you move the iron and the edge isn't in the right position, just lift it up because the glue is still hot and align it. Then you continue ironing until the entire strip is finished. Cut an edge strip about 1 inch longer than necessary and when the glue has cooled, use a sharp knife to trim the strip. If you find a spot where the glue didn't stick, remove the iron and reheat vigorously.
