At first you won't see any power from it. IF you use an external device with anything other than an SSD or mSata SSD, it won't burn your socks. Expect read and write speeds of around 70MB/s. However, with the 850 Evo mSata you're seeing read and write speeds of 335-350. Good card for your money. Another good option if you don't need 4 ports is the Ableconn PUSB31P2A USB 3.1. Double port for $32. We have another MacPro5.1 installed and have similar read and write speeds.
