My parrots and I tried to make this work in a cage. They patiently awaited each new adaptation, trying to get hold of the only chick we have. We had to listen to the poor guy yelling for food while struggling for many hours to make it work. My 4 parrots and I rated this product as crap. They didn't like to sit on a very thin wall to feed the chick. In fact, they couldn't even balance and feed the chick. Even with a small round hole and a pole, they couldn't reach the chick. In the end I taped it to the top of the cage with packing tape. If a wing nut and bolt were provided the overall experience would be more positive. Even a small perch or ladder in the box would not hurt.
