Overall I am happy with this nest. BUT I wouldn't say the bottom is depressed. Maybe a millimeter or two, but barely noticeable. Most of the drawers seem sturdy/well made, I like the accessibility to check the nest and mine comes with cage hooks. But the floor looks like chipboard with some kind of (slippery) laminate. First order came without side panel and hanger. The second is complete. I really like the notch in the bottom to keep the eggs centered and the plastic bottom is roughened to prevent splaying. I have very curious parrots who love to explore. I find that this crate is not secure: 1) The metal hooks that hang the crate from the cage: A) The hooks that come with the crate are too big and cause the crate to sit far enough away from the cage, so that a curious bird can sit on it and get stuck between the cage and the crate.
