A legacy device with sensors that use your home's wiring system to communicate with a hub.

The plastic that houses the electrical components looks like it was made in someone's basement chemistry lab. Not what I would call high quality. On the other hand, it's very easy to install and for the most part everything works as expected, with a few exceptions. Every day one or two remote sensors lose connection, but eventually they keep reconnecting. I don't know what's causing it, but I have them in two houses (mainly for monitoring temperature, water and humidity) and they both do the same thing - lose connection to the hub and then reconnect within a few hours. I can access it from anywhere with a computer or smartphone (requires an internet connection at the source and location you are connecting to). One of the key advantages of this product over some others is the fact that it uses your home's electrical wiring system as an extended antenna, rather than relying on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, which results in poor battery life. Each remote sensor is battery operated. They do not need to be connected to any power source. The batteries in the sensors have a guaranteed service life of ten years! One star off for the pretty crappy plastic body, but who cares? The sensors are on the floor and the hub is a hub. Apart from a small flaw, I am overall satisfied with the purchase. It's nice to see what's going on in our second home without actually being there. In addition, the hub connects to our NEST thermostat. Good product and ingenious method of connecting to all house wiring to send signals to a hub. would recommend.
