Review on 🔧 Enhance Precision with Werkzeug Centering Woodworking Adjustable Replacement by Russ Mashlan

I bought these to replace an old set of 'Insty'Bit' folding bits, also commonly known as Vix bits. My set is over 30 Years old and although they all still worked I thought it was time to replace them I ordered these tool bits, attracted by the wide range of sizes in the kit however they seem to have a design flaw that renders them unusable makes two smallest sizes.The one on the left, the smallest size in the set,shows that the stem is not fully extended.If you look closely you can see that the tip of the drill protrudes,which defeats the purpose of these bits.On the On the right is the opposite problem shown After drilling a few holes in the jaws the trunk is completely O Apparently it no longer works In both cases the problem seems to be a design flaw in the attachment of the spring being to the moving barrel. on the left, the spring is compressed at the end of the barrel, preventing it from stretching properly. In the right one, the spring has come loose from the end of the barrel, allowing the barrel to fall out. Countersunk holes in a metal door hinge are flat rather than tapered to fit the hole in the hinge. I assume this will work but might not be as good as if they were beveled to fit the hinge hole. I really wanted them to work and I'm very disappointed. I will probably buy another set from Insty-bit or another well known brand.
