Update - The seller contacted me and is offering $25 to remove this review, which violates Revain's Terms of Service by inflating positive reviews . First Review - This item has a design flaw. The socket head screw used to tighten the drill in the centering jig will force the drill out of alignment. If you try not to overtighten, the bit will fall out. The smallest centering guide will not fit standard 1/4" pivot holes. It is not suitable for long piano loops if you use it for that.

Most kits only come in four sizes, this kit comes in eight sizes, expanding its capabilities to a wider variety of installation situations. I just tied up a larger oak drill bit and it drilled a nice clean hole right in the center of the screw hole. The set looks very nice and the extra bits just add value to this instrument. The extra bits also make this product very convenient as you always have a spare until you change out a dull bit or buy a new one.

Despite the German name, this set is (obviously) made in China. My first use of the kit was to realign bolts after plugging old holes in door hinges. Without this tool, it is common for the pilot holes to be off center. This does not happen with a self-centering drill. The set is good, not sure if the polish will rust or not as often happens with cheap tools. The box is ok but it would be better if the material was stronger and the cutout was the right size. As other careful reviewers have noted, the face of the pilot drill is not beveled as it should be. So if your hole in the loop is exactly the same size as the bit guide (unlikely because you have to choose based on the size of the bit which depends on the size of the screw) your hole will end up off center as I have (see photo) . Based on the very good reviews of this self centering swivel drill set I decided to use this instead of the much more expensive snap on self on. a set of nozzles for the centering joint (which has fewer nozzles). The bit assemblies are heavy chrome plated steel that is unlikely to rust. It also centers the bits for perfect center holes (really important for accurate hinge placement).
