This product does what it promises. It seems that most chargers need to drop 110 volts down to 12 volts via the USB port or the Apple FireWire end. But if you need to switch from 110 volts to a cigarette lighter (port) charger, this charger is for you. I bought it because of the fixed cord attached to the radio charger, which only had the "cigarette lighter" end. This end of the cable could not be replaced by any other charging end. Satisfied.
