Now I have both Asus VG278H and Samsung S27A950D. There is no doubt that this monitor is great for 2D. The colors are fantastic and the smoothness when gaming at 120Hz is incredible. The design is sleek and ready to go, this thing had no dead pixels. Now for the bad: It's terrible for 3D. The Tri-Def software is hit or miss, it's not ready for 3D vision and it's very difficult to get 3D to work. I understand that you have a backlight on TN panels, but on this monitor the backlight is patchy and bright in places. The previous viewer posted a blowout in the lower right corner and my block did the same. It was very noticeable and hard to miss in dark scenes. I've always had matte LCDs and this screen was glossy. I knew that when I ordered it, but I personally couldn't adjust to the reflections in the gloss. If Samsung fixes the backlight bleeding and prepares this product for 3D vision, this would be the ideal monitor. Except for the shiny screen. imo.
