Size 255/40/19, rear wheel drive 3L, 240HP There is not much to compare with, before buying the Bridgestone Blizzak WS60 (non-studded, 225/55/17) and Dunlop SP Sport 01 (summer, 245/40/19), the previous car was front-wheel drive, so it’s not really to compare them with each other correctly. Tire mileage after purchase - 400-500 km (conditionally - 30% Hong Kong time, 70% near castle). The driving style is moderately aggressive, the first 100-200 km - running in without sudden movements, max. 80-100 km/h. Weather conditions: -12…+7, dry/wet asphalt, snow/ice. Summary: 1) Confident changing lanes, regardless of the surface (dry/wet asphalt, snow). Where the Dunlop 245/40 required attention when changing lanes, on the Toyo 255/40 the track is not noticeable at all, in principle. 2) Low noise. After changing shoes from Dunlop, I did not notice more noise. The point, perhaps, is good sound insulation, but I didn’t notice the “take-off and airborne” rumble even with the window open on the run-in. Definitely softer than the same Dunlop (bumps, rails, pits). 3) Studding in appearance is not ideal, of course. But after 500 km, the spikes are all in place. 4) Behavior on snow/ice. Braking in a straight line is excellent, everything is expected and under control, acceleration from a standstill (subjectively) is 4+. In a turn, the behavior is completely predictable, unless, of course, you specifically rip the wheels into a skid. Feels like quite comfortable tires for confident winter driving.
