Woman called and said she was having problems with her 98 Pathfinder. While she was gone, the truck began to idle uneasily and pretended to stop. She came home and I looked at her. CEL has been activated. Scanned it and pulled out codes P0100 and P0325. P0100 is related to the mass air flow sensor. P0325 is related to issues with the knock sensor. I decided to try cleaning and checking the old mass air flow sensor first. This effectively cleared the P0325 code, which was undoubtedly caused by MAF air issues, but the P0100 code returned. However, this confirmed the problem and the detail required. Hitachi is original equipment on the Nissan Pathfinder and it was priced the same or less than questionable aftermarket parts - a no-brainer. Easy installation in less than 15 minutes. Cleared codes and road test. The codes are not returned and the truck runs fine. Problem solved.
