Unfortunately not perfect, but it works now.
Overall I like this style of crocheting and find the grip very comfortable. Unfortunately, the needle I received was not smooth on the inside of the needle itself and the yarn caught on every stitch. Upon closer inspection, I found uneven or unpolished/finished metal under the hinge. Luckily I am a smart woman and was able to correct imperfections myself. I used a diamond blade on a rotary tool. The hook is now running smoothly. I'm sure it was just an accident and most of the hooks were sold as they should be.
