Review on πŸ”’ Genuine Honda 17670-T3W-A01 Fuel Filler Cap: Reliable and High-Quality Fuel Filling Solution by Johnny Bloomer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not much fun to install

As others have said, this is a genuine Honda part. I downgraded the rating by one star because the rotating bezel that is part of the cap is a little tight and pulls the elastic to the 12 o'clock position when you tighten the cap. I hope it wears out a little in the future and is a little looser. It's a shame you have to buy a brand new cap when the rubber band rips. Replacing a cap is no fun if you don't know the secrets. To get the small piece of plastic holding the end of the rubber band out of the metal around the gas filler neck, push it in and twist it a quarter turn (clockwise if I remember correctly). After you take it out, it turns into a shell that splits in half (I think there's a slot where you insert a small screwdriver) to remove the end of the rubber band. Be careful. This tiny piece is another genuine Honda part and I'm sure there are plenty of them for sale. end outside the plastic. Connect the halves of the clam shell. This may require some pressure. Then insert the bottom tab of the piece of plastic into the metal hole it originally came out of. Press down and twist 1/4 turn to tighten. The end of the rubber band should be near the gas cap.
