For those replacing this due to a broken valve in the cap

Looks and works exactly like the original. For those replacing this because of a bad valve in the cap, make it easy on yourself and don't bother removing the cable from the car in the first place. Simply remove the old gas cap from the filler neck, put the new one in, then gently pull on the locking ring and it will pop right out. Do the same to the old gas cap so that the cable is now free on the car and press it against the new gas cap.

Genuine Honda Spare Part; Solving Vacuum Problems In The Fuel System

If your onboard gauge tells you to check your fuel cap, you may need to replace it. After installing this cover, drive your vehicle as usual without resetting the code or disconnecting the battery. It can take up to 2 full weeks for the on-board computer to relearn the settings and clear the message. For me it took exactly 13 days including city and motorway driving. Installed on Honda Civic 2006 LX. The leash is difficult to set up. I don't really have any good suggestions on how to do this.

Not much fun to install

As others have said, this is a genuine Honda part. I downgraded the rating by one star because the rotating bezel that is part of the cap is a little tight and pulls the elastic to the 12 o'clock position when you tighten the cap. I hope it wears out a little in the future and is a little looser. It's a shame you have to buy a brand new cap when the rubber band rips. Replacing a cap is no fun if you don't know the secrets. To get the small piece of plastic holding the end of the rubber band out

. I narrowed it down to DTC P0455 [EVAP System Leak Detected - Large Leak] using an Ancel OBDII code reader and decided to replace the gac cover and wire. The gas cap fitted well, but removing the cable was a major hassle. I finally found another Revain review that explained that there is a latch on the underside of the clamshell plastic case. I stuck a small flat head screwdriver behind it and used a little force to loosen the clip holding the plastic case in place. Once released, I was able…

Works very well with carburetors and parts

I have a 2006 Honda Civic and I have the fuel cap light on all the time. I read a few reviews and did a little research on the problem and found a video of flipping the rubber seal on the gas cap (so the side that was against the cap is now against the fuel filler neck). It worked for her but not for me. It was easy enough to try what I did. I considered buying a new gas cap but thought it best to take it to the dealer to make sure there was no problem with the evaporator system. I called the…
