Replacement spools print well

Edit: 19 Mar 18 - Priline contacted me via Revain and sent two replacement spools PLA. Right after opening the vacuum bag, I put the filament in the desiccant box. I printed two dyno tests and a few other scenery elements. Prints come out fine at 215ยฐC and a feed speed of 50mm/s (Monoprice Maker Select Plus, 50mm/s is a bit slow for this machine, but I'm still testing this filament). The prints compare well with the PLA+ that I use a lot. For landscaping and other situations where the surface quality doesn't need to be the best or I'll be painting the surface anyway, this is a good choice. Reliable extrusion at temperatures below 200ยฐC could not be achieved. Above that the seal was breakable. Tried the same piece in 5C increments from 185C to 220C. I wasn't impressed with the winding of the coil either (it looks like it's ready to be tied to itself) and there's no information about PLA in the packaging; I had to go here to find out that the manufacturer recommends printing at 185C). That goes in the bin and I'll stick with other brands that I've had solid success with.

Pros
  • Material: PLA (polylactic acid) - Color: green - Weight: 1kg (approx. 2.20lbs) Spool
Cons
  • Requires socket
