This tester is very useful. I recently had to test, charge and reseat a car battery a few times because we couldn't immediately figure out what was causing the problem. Because of this, I was looking for a tester that could tell me more than just battery voltage. Without reading the instructions or looking at all the tester's options, I was able to quickly check the voltage at the battery terminals, the starting voltage and the car charge. System. The tester just asked me to enter the CCA (Cold Crank Current) of the battery under test. These are usually the large numbers listed on car batteries. There are other options for testing AGM, SLA and other battery types. I find this very useful as I have pretty much every type of battery in kids toys, lawn mowers, home security systems and UPS backup batteries. Another really cool feature is that the tester lets you know if something is normal or within the normal range. It's great if you're like me and have a hard time remembering such details. Last but not least, I think it's great that I can get firmware updates from the manufacturer (which I did, by the way). I believe that as with all modern electronics, bugs can be fixed this way and updates can add new features or improve performance. Now the hardest part is deciding whether to keep the tester at home or carry it with me in my truck all the time.
