Brand new mailbox, I use this converter for my 700w microwave oven. However, the back of the microwave says the total output is 1075 watts. I connected the converter directly to my light truck battery, the power converter would not turn on, I had to put the trunk into working mode first before I could turn on the power converter and it worked. My truck's voltage started out at 14.03V and dropped to 10.8V as soon as I turned on the microwave. VOLTWORKS 1500W pure sine wave inverter is a real beast. I turned on the microwave for 4 minutes, the converter positive red wire started to smoke and heat up a bit. It's not good for camping and I don't want my family to be alone in the woods. At level B I added a second battery, 8 AWG wire to support the inverter and it works. An 8AWG wire connects from the car battery to the second battery, an additional 8AWG wire connects from the second battery to the inverter via the VOLTWORKS-provided 4AWG wire. Now I can run my converter for a few minutes with the engine off, but not recommended if you are far from town. The power converter works very well, the unit only gets a little warm and the converter fans didn't turn on at all, but I still don't know how loud those fans are! The input to the bias converter is 11.2V and the output is 117V, yes I can live with that. I am planning to buy a small induction cooktop to use with my microwave for a long car ride or camping trip. I'm sure a deep cycle battery is a good choice, but it's too expensive and I don't camp all the time. Five stars overall for this product, delivered on time, item arrived in a secure box.
