I took a chance and unfortunately as other reviewers have said the herbs I cut with these scissors instantly clog the blades and require a small plastic cleaning tool. After a few tries, it's not worth it in the end. I'd rather use regular scissors to pluck the herbs and then a knife to chop them up. FYI, I've tried cilantro and scallions, but I think basil will score just as well. Maybe something savory like sage would work better? Or less like thyme? Final verdict, thumbs down (in concept). The product itself seems well made, FWIW
