Defect, too many people have low standards, acidity in urine this week?

First of all, I've never owned a dog that used pee pads. Unfortunately I adopted two Pomeranians, a puppy and a three year old, the oldest of whom was never potty trained. Word of wisdom: Don't potty an untrained adult at the same time as a puppy. What should have been a temporary backup appears to have become a permanent situation. Because of this, I decided to try different brands of pee pads to find the best solution. When they were adopted I got a pack of original Wee Wee Pads. They were good but a friend loved the Glad Charcoal Pee Pads. I like that they don't ring like whites, they pick up any smell better than the competition - at least in theory. In fact, sometimes the ringing stain is so tiny that it dries before I can see it, which isn't particularly pleasant, but the problem was mine, not the product. Several blogs have called these AKC pads the best, and the Revain reviews back up that conclusion. After trying them for 2 weeks I figured these bloggers are getting paid well, the reviewers don't know what they're missing if they don't try other options, or I got a faulty batch. Eight out of ten pads leak onto the floor compared to one in 30 for other pads. It's a complete mess. Even when using Glad pads, I sanitized the floor underneath before putting in a new one to keep it reasonably clean. But now all I have to do is get wet with urine. I started stacking AKC pads in two layers while waiting for Glad Carbon pads to arrive and the waste is absolutely killing me. Tried using the pot outside, fresh grass pads, and only pee pads worked. I only gave it 2 stars because my experience is so contradictory to what I've read online that it could very well be a faulty batch. The second star is only because I gave the AKC the benefit of the doubt.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes
