My 2018 Subaru Impreza came with the standard low horns which are more roadrunner like and say "meep-meep!". than a real car horn. This set of Hella horns have become a great replacement for the factory horns. I was able to install the horns at the same two factory locations and was even able to use the factory positive wire and connector for each of them (the factory harness connector was perfect for the pin on these horns so I didn't have to cut wires or use adapters). The only thing I had to add was a short piece of wire to connect one of the horn connectors to the mounting screw on each horn to provide ground. Factory horns have a ground built into the mounting bracket, but they actually have a separate ground terminal. Although it was an easy task. I simply used a short length of 10 AWG wire and crimped a .25 female connector on one end and a ring connector on the other. Easy! Now my car actually sounds like a car with the classic horn! Tips: - You can download the Hella app on your phone if you want to hear what all their different types of beeps sound like. Subaru Installation Instructions: - If you have a Subaru you can easily replace the top horn by simply removing some plastic panels from under your hood, the top horn is mounted right near the center of the front cross member near the radiator ( see my photos) - The lower horn on your Subaru is most likely located under the headlight on the passenger side. To access it (as some people will tell you), remove the bumper cover. You can remove the trim and fog lights/DRLs on that side of the car and access the horn through the hole there. Just pry off the panel. You will then need to remove the two clips underneath the car so you can pull the fender down and access the two clips and one screw that secure the daytime running lights to the car. Once you remove them you can slide the DRL out of the way and access the horn. (see also my photos)
