If you have a larger plug made for your device in the late 90's or so, it will cover nearby outlets even though they advertise that outlets are specifically positioned to deliver more power. Bricks' that connect without them. Not true. I have a really very old switching power supply that looks like a regular Tripp Lite model, but it's not a Tripp Lite brand and the sockets on it are much wider than them tripp lite isobar and it also has 6 outlets.. buzzes when you plug two or more devices into it.. I contacted support regarding this and their response was to send me a new one and never answered my questions. I am me not sure what to think of that, it was kind of rude but they also sent me a new one for free so that's good I guess. Devices are connected so I believe this is normal for this device. The support never responded to this other than just sending me a new one without asking how they just did it I don't think they like questions as they both do the same thing it should be fine it does NOT heat up and there is none at all other problems. All three lights should be on and the two outer lights should be green. The center light is a constant red because the red color matches the color of the plastic cover over that light. If two of them are green and the red light is on then everything is fine and everything is fine. If the two outer lights change color or go out, it means there is a problem and you should stop using it. My phone/DSL line runs through Tripp Lite and the internet speed does NOT change. If it does, that means it's either introducing noise or adding resistance, in my experience. Supposedly this isobar is for eliminating line noise, but that's more for outlets, but I haven't had any negative experiences or downsides online at all. I haven't tried cat filters on this isobar as I don't have a TV or cable. The weird thing is they don't send you very many outlet covers. So if you only had one or two devices to plug in you would have open sockets which if you drop something or something falls into one of the uncovered sockets it will turn off the isobar and possibly your gear or can start a fire etc. I don't know why they don't include extra outlet covers with their isobars. Basically I am satisfied with the product. Support doesn't seem keen on answering questions and just sends out new devices instead, which is weird, but you don't need to contact support often anyway.
