Review on Cryorig H7 Tower CPU Cooler by Bobby Valadez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent cooler for your money. Watch out for price fluctuations.

I wouldn't pay more than $45, there are better options for that price. If you don't need a cooler with a lower profile height, this option is a good choice. I used it in a microATX case with an R5 3600x processor. It's great for small cases. Effortlessly cleans RAM slots and VRM heatsinks. There are no instructions in the box so you'll have to go to the website. If you've built systems before, it's not that hard to figure it out by looking. It was immediately compatible with socket AM4. You must use the included backplate, so keep that in mind during installation. Depending on your case, you may or may not need to remove the motherboard, but for a new system, it's not a big deal. It also comes with thermal paste but I ended up using arctic silver mx-4 which I wanted to finish. I was also surprised to see an additional fan clip. I ended up using an RGB fan and a standard fan together for a push/pull configuration. The processor idles at a high 30C - low 40C, which is about 10C above ambient, so not too bad.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Mostly good but...
