I have ordered this tool 3 times. January 15, March 15 and November 15. So far the tool has worked well with 1/4-20 stainless steel or brass firm bits. The tool held the insert in place and the insert slot and leading edge of the tool were the correct size. The tools have been clear hardened, phosphated and machined before marking. The last instrument delivered; poorly machined with a "flat" non-reflective surface of the tool left in the phosphoric acid tank for too long does not hold the inserts to prevent them from falling off the tool when positioned over the hole has a drive comb, the too is small to easily disengage from the insert slot, requiring excessive clamping force. Said to have the same form, fit and function as its predecessors, the latest tool doesn't, and it reduces this style of EZ-Lok deployment system from a premium price for value to an inflated price for a similar malfunction. With a tool of this appearance and similar flaws, I would suggest returning the tool and inserts. The high cost of the connector system was justified by the reliable installation. The latest tool makes installation as troublesome as inserts that sell for a lot less.
