Well, if you follow the installation instructions verbatim, as I've tried, you'll get to the point where the printer is set up and the OSD normal is ready to use the screen. The manual then prompts you to go to the Cannon web address to install the drivers. The driver for this machine is not here and search will not find it. you are stuck Instead, open a browser and search for Canon USA Downloads. Click Canon official link. NOW enter the name of the TR8620 printer. 2 potential drivers are displayed. I used the latest version of the date. Click LOAD. Your download now has an executable file. Run it. You will answer a few basic prompts, then it will search for a device on your network. Here the fun begins! If you followed the instructions in the email, the installer will not find your printer and will refuse to continue. It's a bit like my wife. what did you miss NOTHING. This is where Canon is wrong. Let's fix that. Leave your computer alone for now. My Canon printer is connected to the network with a cable like that used by older non-wireless computers. I plugged in the cable and thought I was done. nope Take a look at this slick printer LCD screen. Notice how the WIFI and network icons appear offline? Click the gear/wheel icon on the printer's LCD. The menu now shows o Device settings. Select "Enable LAN" if you use a network cable like me. BOOM! Your LAN is now connected and the PC installation will now find and show the new magic printer on your network. NOW CLICK PRINTER. At the bottom of the installation window you can track the progress and you're done. Repeat the software installation for all other computers on your network. Ready. Now the printer itself - Benefits * Nice small footprint. * The LCD screen is cute, big and very touch sensitive - beautiful! Deal breaker for me. Your mileage may vary depending on this issue. Inserting the 5 ink cartridges is easy and the screen gives you beeps and pictures letting you know you've put them in correctly - nice! Disadvantages * The power cord is shorter than the politician's memory. * No network cable included. Bring your own beer here. * There are no instructions for installing the printer driver and network. It's really inexcusable for a homemade product with all of us non-techies. zero stars for Canon on this one, and your reviews are hammered for it. I will complete my review and update later. I wanted to show this to new owners who are frustrated with their install :) Overall I think it offers the right value for the price and use case. Very fast for what it is. So far I'm happy after the software installation episode faded from my memory. I would buy again and give 5 stars. very inferior, but perfectly functional. It's kind of a 15 meter beauty if you will. UPDATE 3/9/2021 Photo print quality is fantastic IMHO. The rear sheet feeder accepts paper after you follow the on-screen instructions to fold the paper guide, load the paper, and fold it back down. Not designed for making multiple copies quickly, but ideal for home users. The speed is incredible and it was dry. A copier is a simple thing. Open the cover, place a document on the flatbed, and click Scan. The LCD will ask you where to send it. It is saved in multiple cloud storages or PC folders as PDF file. Very quick and easy.
