Review on Neewer Telephoto Lens Support Bracket: Enhance Stability for Long-Focus Photography with Tripod by Darius Slater

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent build quality but not a universal fit

I want to love this instrument. As with recent Neewer products, the build quality is superb - I have complete confidence in it with my camera gear. However, the standard mount for the front lens is too high for my rather small (Canon 700D) camera body. If I added another quick release plate under the camera (or even a battery grip) it would reach enough height, but I really didn't want to buy another part of the kit just to be able to use this tool. Here's a tip for everyone. If the same problem occurs, the front bracket can be removed with the included Allen wrench and reinstalled *upside down* (see attached photo), giving an extra gap of about an inch to accommodate smaller camera bodies. With this method, the support part hangs noticeably lower than in the original state, but that doesn't bother me at all. It turns the front end into a sort of "knob" that can be used to fine-tune the tripod position. All in all, definitely recommended, but with the caveat that some tweaks need to be made to make it work with smaller cameras.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something
