Item must be present. but there are problems with mounting hole

I have two of these at home and they are very useful. Apart from that this is my third pair as others usually stopped working after about 8 years in a sheltered but open space. They have a lid about the same size as the previous version, but the body is an inch shorter so the mounting holes don't match the old ones. To make matters worse, my house was originally built for wired keyboards and the mounting holes are now closer together than the height of an electrical box recessed into the wall. I had to fit a block of wood into each box to keep the bottom screw from snagging on something (it only took a few minutes and the box has no live wires so it's still safe). The keyboard covers almost the entire width of the box, so it had to be painted with chalk after installation. Installation was an easy task using my nearly 20 year old Genie openers; I learned how to program them before mounting them on the wall. There is a sticker on the inside of the lid with programming instructions, but it's a little easier to remove once installed (no point making it easier for kids to reset). This model uses 2 AAA batteries which are cheaper and I always have at home unlike the previous model's 9 volt battery. As before, you can also set a temporary visitor PIN, this PIN will be deleted as soon as you enter your regular PIN. Overall this is a must for me. I just wish the mounting holes were better thought out and hope they last longer than the previous ones.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
