Review on πŸ”Œ iGo Green Power Smart Wall Surge Protectors PM00012-0001 by Mark Fleming

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works as advertised, even with a wireless charger.

Works as advertised even with wireless charger. I was a bit doubtful that this would work with my Samsung phone's wireless charging pad as I assumed the pad would need some power to recognize my phone. But it works almost perfectly. When I put my phone on the stand for the first time, it doesn't start charging right away. But after a few minutes (maybe 5 or 15) it connects and starts charging. This is fine for my purposes as I charge my phone overnight. It's good to know that when I'm not charging my phone, this device shuts off the power and eliminates vampire power consumption. If I needed a quick charge within a few minutes that might be an issue, but then I could just use the USB or press the button on the surge protector. I bought a used item that came with no instructions but I didn't really need them. I connected the charger to the surge protector, pressed the button once and it's been working fine ever since. I never had to fiddle with it, which is good since it stands behind the dresser. I found this charger while looking for a side outlet surge protector and chose this one because of the Green Vampire shutdown feature. Advantages: - Side outlets! - Works as advertised - Works with cordless phone charger - Easy setup - Stops "vampire" power consumption Cons: - Not a problem for me, but it can take a few minutes for the power to arrive. #firstworldproblems*edit*: After my phone is charged, the outlet stays on until I remove my phone. But then the outlet cuts off the power for the rest of the day.
