Ordered 2 but 1 appears to be defective

Our PetSafe Inground Fence has been around for almost 8 years now. It was the perfect solution and the battery seemed to last 6 months. I bought 2 replacement collars in April and since then we have found the batteries only last 3-4 weeks. We thought our Boxer would do something to cause this until our pet store mentioned defective collars in the past. I am now buying another collar just 8 months after spending $75 on one. The other collar in my order works fine but it's on a Shih Tzu so I'm not sure if the ultra light isn't suitable for larger dogs?
